20th- 24th, May 2019 – The OB Lulu-Briggs Foundation (OBLBF) and Kalabari National Association (KNA) in partnership/sponsorship with NewcrossEP (and others), carried out a 5 day joint free medical outreach in Bakana, Degema local government, Rivers state.

A team of 10 NewcrossEP staff visited Bakana to observe and show support during the course of this program. This team was met and briefed by Dr. Lawson, the OBLBF Chairman, before and after the opening ceremony with a progress report of the outreach so far. They were also briefed by Tomaya, an Intensive Care Unit nurse from America, who explained to them in detail, the itinerary for the week.
Dr. Lawson while giving a special address at the Opening ceremony appreciated NewcrossEP’s team, for their incessant support over the last few years. 

Various health care services were provided; From eye and ear tests, physiotherapy, gynecology, to dental. Minor surgeries such as hernia repair, cyst removal, and breast biopsy were also carried out while those in need of major surgery, were referred to the tertiary hospital. 

This medical mission is the third consecutive mission and NewcrossEP is once again grateful for an opportunity to give back to the host communities.
